YorkiPoo Breeding On The Rise
Yorkipoo dogs are rapidly growing in interest with dog lovers. They are the perfect blend of a Yorkshire Terrier and a poodle. Yorkipoo breeding is done for several main reasons. The first of those is the allergy factor. Millions of people each year are pained by red itchy eyes, stuffed up noses, congestion and other symptoms. Outdoor allergens such as pollen and mold are some of the most popular; however, animal dander is another good cause
of these symptoms.
Each year many animal lovers are forced to live without or give up their beloved animals, because of the repercussions that they would have to suffer with them. Yorkies have little to no shedding, thanks to the genetics of the Poodle and Yorkshire Terriers. This makes them one of the best hypo-allergenic dog breeds. Yorkipoos are also bred to be smaller in stature. They stand only 7 to 12 inches tall and weigh anywhere from 4 to 15 pounds. They are often referred to as toy-sized dogs.
To receive a smaller sized dog, it is best to breed a smaller Yorkshire Terrier with one of the toy or miniature poodles. Many people, who are not always professional dog breeders, will try to breed Yorkies with other Yorkies, to make a smaller breed. This can make for a very unhealthy dog, especially if there is a lot of inbreeding, to try to accomplish this.
With Yorkipoos being a new cross breed, they have yet to be listed as an actual real breed. Yorkipoos are considered to be mostly a first generation breed, and therefore will take longer to be recognized. With breeding, it is not always a good thing. Dog genetics, like human genetics, can be tricky. Breeding two dogs does not always mean that the offspring will have the desired traits that are preferred. The offspring can exhibit any of the traits that the parents have. Regardless of what your Yorkipoo looks like, there is a very good chance that you will be happy with one of these fun loving, loyal dogs.
